About this Website

This website carries occasional news updates of matters relating to goings on in the Kings Langley area – this website does not in any way replace nor does it compete with On-line Watch Link system (OWL) www.owl.co.uk – the main NHW website for our region.
What www.klnhw.co.uk does is carry news open to all residents of Kings Langley whether they are a member of OWL or not. Which neatly brings up the question: if you’re not a member, why not? It takes no effort whatsoever and you will be kept up-to-date on matters of local security by either the Hertfordshire Police or by your local street NHW coordinator.
Neighbourhood News Watch is really all about local residents working together with the police to protect their homes and communities which helps residents and businesses to fight crime and be safe. Everything relating to being a member of your local Neighbourhood Watch is free – anyone charging for anything regarding Neighbourhood Watch is not a part of OWL and is better ignored.
OWL is a Hertfordshire Police registered scheme which feeds members with information regarding any suspicious people or incidents through the OWL system advising them about local crime or whether there are bogus officials or rogue traders operating in your area. OWL also provides local information including neighbourhood newsletters, crime statistics, house prices, local councils and details of local politicians, weather and transport. It also lets people report problems such as fly-tipping or broken street lights directly to the correct department.
For more information go to Herts Police website: www.herts.police.uk or look up your local Neighbourhood Watch by clicking here: www.owl.co.uk/watchfinder.htm - complete the form after putting your postcode in and your street coordinator will be in touch.
